Rosabeth Moss Kanter holds the Ernest L. Arbuckle Professorship at Harvard Business School, where she specializes in strategy, innovation, and leadership for change. Her strategic and practical insights have guided leaders of large and small organizations worldwide for over 25 years, through teaching, writing, and direct consultation to major corporations and governments. The former Editor of Harvard Business Review (1989-1992), Professor Kanter has been named to lists of the "50 most powerful women in the world" (Times of London), and the "50 most influential business thinkers in the world" (Accenture and Thinkers 50 research). In 2001, she received the Academy of Management's Distinguished Career Award for her scholarly contributions to management knowledge, and in 2002 was named "Intelligent Community Visionary of the Year" by the World Teleport Association.

Professor Kanter is the author or co-author of 17 books, which have been translated into 17 languages. Her latest book, America the Principled: 6 Opportunities for Becoming a Can-Do Nation Once Again (published on October 23, 2007), offers a positive agenda for the nation, focused on innovation and education, a new workplace social contract, values-based corporate conduct, competent government, positive international relations through citizen diplomacy and business networks, and national and community service.

Her previous book, Confidence: How Winning Streaks & Losing Streaks Begin & End (a New York Times business and #1 Business Week bestseller), describes the culture and dynamics of high-performance organizations as compared with those in decline, and shows how to lead turnarounds, whether in businesses, hospitals, schools, sports teams, community organizations, or countries. Her classic prizewinning book, Men & Women of the Corporation (C. Wright Mills award winner for the year's best book on social issues) offered insight to countless individuals and organizations about corporate careers and the individual and organizational factors that promote success; a spin-off video, A Tale of `O': On Being Different, is among the world's most widely-used diversity tools; and a related book, Work & Family in the United States, set a policy agenda (in 2001, a coalition of university centers created the Rosabeth Moss Kanter Award in her honor for the best research on work/family issues). Another award-winning book, When Giants Learn to Dance, showed how to master the new terms of competition at the dawn of the global information age. World Class: Thriving Locally in the Global Economy identified the rise of new business networks and analyzed the benefits and tensions of globalization.

She has received 22 honorary doctoral degrees, as well as numerous leadership awards and prizes for her books and articles; for example, her book The Change Masters was named one of the most influential business books of the 20th century (Financial Times). Through Goodmeasure Inc., the consulting group she co-founded, she has partnered with IBM to bring her leadership tools, originally developed for businesses, to public education as part of IBM's award-winning Reinventing Education initiative and she is a Senior Advisor for IBM's Global Citizenship portfolio.. She advises CEOs of large and small companies, has served on numerous business and non-profit boards and national or regional commissions, and speaks widely, often sharing the platform with Presidents, Prime Ministers, and CEOs at national and international events, such as the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Before joining the Harvard Business School faculty, she held tenured professorships at Yale University and Brandeis University and was a Fellow at Harvard Law School, simultaneously holding a Guggenheim Fellowship.

She chairs a Harvard University group creating an innovative initiative on advanced leadership, to help successful leaders at the top of their professions apply their skills not only to managing their own enterprises but also to addressing challenging national and global problems.

Jim Micali

Jim Micali was appointed chairman and president of Michelin North America in 1996.

Mr. Micali received his legal degree from Boston College Law School in 1973. After practicing law with Higgins, Cavanagh & Cooney in Providence, R.I., he joined Michelin in 1977 and held a number of positions in the legal department, including two assignments in France, through 1984. He was named general counsel and secretary for Michelin North America in 1985, and became executive vice president of the North American legal and finance functions in 1990.

Mr. Micali was named a member of the Michelin Group Executive Council in 2001. He served the rubber industry as chairman of the board of the Rubber Manufacturers Association for a one-year term concluding in 2002. He was elected to the board of directors of Sonoco in 2003 and to the board of directors of SCANA in 2008, and served on the board of directors of Lafarge North America from 2004 to 2006. In 2004, the Richard W. Riley Institute of Government, Politics and Public Leadership at Furman University named Mr. Micali a distinguished senior fellow in political economy and leadership management. He currently serves as chairman of the S.C. Chamber of Commerce and was a past chair of the S.C. Manufacturers Alliance.

Mr. Micali is a guest lecturer at Furman University and previously served on the board of directors for the Saint Francis Hospital in Greenville, S.C. He has also received the Order of Merit from the French Government.

A native of Chicago, Robert left a scholarship at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1990 to pursue a degree in computer science at the University of Minnesota. While attending the University, he landed a job fixing computers for the Human Factors Research Laboratory. Over a three year period, he rose to become head engineer of the lab while earning scholarships from the U.S. Navy and the FAA building flight and driving simulators. It was also during this time he started a computer consulting business. In April 1994, after three years at the University, he formed The Geek Squad with $200. In 2002, The Geek Squad was acquired by Best Buy and opened The Geek Squad precincts in all Best Buy US and Canadian stores. Bart Thompson

Mr. Bart Thompson received his BSME in 1983 from Louisiana Tech University (Magna cum Laude), then his MSME from Virginia Tech in 1985. His graduate work centered on structural modeling, specifically Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

Upon graduation, Mr. Thompson joined Michelin Americas Research and Development Corporation in Greenville, SC. From 1985 to 1987 he worked towards developing and validating predictive tools for radial tire design and analysis. From 1988 to 1992 his work centered on applying these tools for systematic design of speed rated high performance tires. Since 1993 much of his work has involved concept projects related to both process and product innovation.

In 1999 Mr. Thompson began research with a group of innovation engineers. Their principle work related to engineering non-pneumatic tire-like structures. The invention of the Michelin TweelTM was publicly unveiled in the 2005 Detroit Autoshow and received international press coverage.

During his tenure at Michelin Research, Mr. Thompson has been awarded several patents. These patents have related to advances in traditional tire and wheel technology as well as to advanced concepts for future product innovations.

Ari Weinzweig moved to Ann Arbor from his hometown of Chicago to attend the University of Michigan. After graduating with a degree in Russian history, he went to work washing dishes in a local restaurant and soon discovered that he loved the food business. Along with his partner Paul Saginaw, Ari started Zingerman's Delicatessen in 1982 with a $20,000 bank loan, a staff of two, a small selection of great-tasting specialty foods and a relatively short sandwich menu. Today, Zingerman's is an Ann Arbor institution-the source of great food and great experiences for over 500,000 visitors every year. Each day the Deli serves up thousands of made-to-order sandwiches with ingredients like corned beef and pastrami, homemade chopped liver and chicken salad. The Deli stocks an array of farmhouse cheeses, smoked fish, salamis, estate-bottled olive oils, vintage vinegars, whole bean coffees, loose leaf teas and much more.

Ari is involved in many educational activities. He has served as a board member and president of The American Cheese Society and as a board member of the Retail Division of the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade. He is a frequent guest speaker in business classes at the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University, as well as at various food and business conferences in this country and abroad including the American Institute of Wine and Food, Oldways Preservation and Exchange Trust, the Gathering of Games, and the NASFT Fancy Food Show.

In 1988 Zingerman's was instrumental in the founding of Food Gatherers, a perishable food rescue program, and continues to be a major supporter of the organization. Every year Food Gatherers delivers over a million pounds of food to people in need. Ari has also served on the board of The Ark, the longest continuously-operating folk music venue in America. In April of 1995, Ari and Paul received the Jewish Federation of Washtenaw County's first Humanitarian Award for their community contributions. Most recently Ari was recognized as one of the "Who's Who of Food & Beverage in America" by the 2006 James Beard Foundation.

Jack Bass is widely regarded as one of the foremost experts on the history of Southern politics. He has conducted scholarly research and taught at major universities across the region, including serving as director of American South Special Projects at the University of South Carolina. Producer of the PBS documentary, "A Different Dixie: Portraits of Change," Bass is also a prolific writer, having contributed to such publications as The Los Angeles Times, Atlanta Constitution, Washington Post, The New Republic, The Nation and The New York Times.

Critics have hailed Bass's numerous books on Southern political culture, including "Unlikely Heroes," which tells the story of how a handful of Southern federal judges -- most of them Republicans appointed by President Eisenhower, transformed the Supreme Court's decision in Brown. v. Board of Education into a broad mandate for racial justice. His "Taming the Storm: The Life and Times of Judge Frank M. Johnson Jr." earned the prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Book Award grand prize.

Currently professor of humanities and social science at the College of Charleston, Bass recently co-authored a book with Marilyn Thompson titled, "Strom: The Complicated Personal and Political Life of Strom Thurmond."

Originally from South Carolina, owner and winemaker Suzanne Hagins started Lutea in 2004 to specialize in organically grown pinot noir.
